Light up your home with Lucentezza’s candle care guide

Are you ready to indulge in easy but important candle care tips to improve your favorite scented possession's quality and longevity? Welcome to your Essential Candle Care Guide.

  • Ensure even burn the first time you light the candle
  • It is wise to burn your candle for at least two hours so that the top layer of wax can fully melt from edge to edge. This prevents the formation of a memory ring from being created. The burn should be about 1 inch of the candle diameter per hour. This will prevent tunneling and ensure that the wax will melt evenly for the life of the candle.

  • Keep the wick of the candle trimmed with Candle Wick Trimmer
  • If you are looking for an even and clean burn, you will want to maintain the correct length of your candle's wick. This is made possible by trimming the wick to get the most out of your candle. To achieve an ideal size of being about ¼" in length before burning, you can use a Candle Wick Trimmer to do the trick. It creates an excellent clean cut that maintains the integrity of the wick. Keeping the wick at a certain length helps in avoiding mushrooming, which can result in unnecessary soot.

  • Maximize the scent throw of the candle
  • While a lit candle is undoubtedly soothing, the scent of the candle is rejuvenating. For optimum fragrance, you should keep the windows and doors closed. You should avoid placing your candles where they will be directly exposed to sunlight or harsh indoor lighting, such as a spotlight. Also, remember to keep away from windy areas as draughts decrease burn time, cause uneven burning.

  • Extinguish the candle safely and correctly with a Candle Wick Snuffer
  • It is wrong to blow out your candles. The right way is to extinguish the candle with a Candle Wick Snuffer. You can do this by dipping the wick into the melted wax and then straighten the wick to prevent smoking while preventing the hot wax from splattering. This way, you will avoid the mess caused by the wax that could splatter everywhere. Moreover, you will not be wasting your wax.

  • Maintaining and storing clean candles for longer time
  • It is recommended to clean out the debris regularly as they are also inflammable. This can cause the candle to overheat, which can create a flashover. After regular use, even soot gets formed and accumulates in the candle's container. Invest in a proper Candle Wick Dipper to ensure optimal combustion and maintain your candle's aesthetic look.

Did you know that your candles can expire over time? It is when they lose their fragrance, become discolored, or otherwise grow stale.
